VERY late to the party on this one, but it was just brought to my attention that this trade was not legal.
The Hornets' 2000 pick is lotto-protected. If it hits, the Hornets will have to give up their 2001 draft pick. Giving up their 2002 draft pick as well would leave them in a situation where they have two consecutive seasons without a draft pick (violates the Stepien Rule). The Hornets' 2002 pick is locked until they have another first in either 2001 or 2002.

It should be legal now as per the last deal regarding the Wizards and I from just before about dropping the protection on the 00 pick. My apologies for the hang up on this deal.
