That feeling when you remember the league moved to a "Third Party Lottery" between Seasons 6 and 7 so that lotto results could be announced early enough that teams that missed the playoffs would have something to do while the playoffs drag on...

Good afternoon beautiful people,

With a majority vote, we will begin doing the Draft lottery show during playoffs and through a third party website.

I will record the process so that if anybody has any comments about how the lottery goes, I can post the video to show there is no funny business. Once I have the results, I will send to Ed and Carlos (Nets and Spurs GMs, respectively) so they can begin doing the lottery show. This will also allow them more time to go through it so they don't feel like they need to rush it all in one day.

I am sending them the results today and then they will start the show when they are ready but I do anticipate them having it done before the playoffs are over

...and you realize we're now on the 6th iteration of a third-party lottery and we still haven't seen the results yet...

... but then you remember that even if we had the results on Day 1 of the playoffs, we might have gotten to pick 3 by now if we are lucky because there are no deadlines for anything.
