I see the Lakers making a move. They have been shopping Wilkes and Free since the offseason, and it's clear the need for a true power forward is glaring, and Wilkes/Free are getting older and not better. They'll do something about it.

Who should make a move, that won't?

The Knicks. After a hot start, they've cooled off massively and could use a shakeup to get them back into the swing of things. But I don't think the Bucks' draft picks are really that valuable, and that means they don't really have any assets to go add to their core without subtracting a major rotation piece, which, given their hot start may not be a good idea. So I think they'd like to make a deal, I just don't think they have anything they are willing to part with that other teams want right now.

Other teams that probably should make a move - but I don't think any of them have the appetite to make a significant change at this point - are the Cavaliers, Bulls, and Celtics... all three are within 1 loss of each other and only two of the three can make the playoffs. Each of those teams should be worried about what happens if one (or both) of the other teams makes a move and they don't.

What are the playoff implications?

The Lakers are out and the Knicks are in. With Dan Issel out for two months, the Mavericks aren't going to make a run at the #6 spot in the West. So unless the Cavs, Bulls, or Celtics pulls the trigger, I don't see any real playoff implications.

I think cavaliers should make a move. They could definitely use another big and a depth piece. As a fringe playoff team, they’re gonna need some extra help to make a deep run

What are the playoff implications?
If the cavs make a trade then that likely means the bulls or Celtics don’t get in since they will be fighting for that last spot. But the Cavs really should be trying to make a push

Well, until a minute ago, i was the only guy to make a move lol. And all I did was grab a new backup PG! I expected the Lakers to get something done, but knowing they're teaching until after sim deadline, I reckon nothing is getting done for them. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Blazers hit the trade forum before all is said and done, because more than anyone else, from my vantage point, Wig is putting in that work and optimizing anywhere and everywhere possible.

I have to talk about the Kings/Bullets deal. First, relative to Wig's pod, I'm not sure the deal can go thru. Bullets have a GANG of picks already, and if there is a limit on picks you can take, they've gotta be well over in this deal. Could blow the whole thing up. If it doesn't, however, I don't like it for the Bullets. For a couple y/y's -some of the better producing y/y's, in my opinion, one with a 100 STL and the other with a PER over 16 (in limited minutes, granted) - and a top 3 wing, Calvin Natt. Thing is, does this Bullets build win a ring? I don't think so. They probably know that and decided to pivot. But I don't expect the Kings' picks to net a great return with the way they've been playing, especially after this pickup. Sikma is...just fine. So, this is definitely a future deal for the Bullets, but I can't help but wonder why when they sit atop the division?

That I did not see coming, but I do not hate seeing Calvin Natt leave the division and conference for the home stretch. Great return though. Great trade.

Who should make a move, that won't? I am just going to say myself here. The Knicks. We have a lot of talent and can win enough games for the playoffs, but ultimately I think our lack of height is going to hurt us. I tried to go out and pay for some help, but no dice. Looking forward to seeing how this starting squad finishes the year.

What are the playoff implications? Of the 2 questions above I assume? I think the Kings deal makes them a true title contender and was a really bold play. I love it. Bullets made themselves much less competitive while at the top of their division though. Great return but interesting play. May cost them a playoff run. The Knicks not making a move wont ultimately have playoff implications. We will make it. We very likely wont make too much noise and that will be that.
