Note: Use approximately 5 sentences as your bare minimum for 1 point. If you write 3 long, complex sentences, you'll still get a point. If you write 5, 3 word sentences, you will not get a point. Don't @ me.

Obviously, exciting to get back into things... though a bit horrified at the state the website and simputer were in after I'd neglected them for several years - it was a lot of work over the past week or so getting a bunch of new stuff ready (new server for the forum, new simputer, and bunch of other new stuff), but definitely exciting... but also annoying as I run into little niggling things like the "Breadcrumbs" portion of the forums not working in Absolution v3 (which I figured out how to fix an hour ago) because Absolution isn't fully compatible with the latest version of PHPBB.
What has all of this been like for you?
I mean it's been a lot of work, but it's also satisfying to see the back-end getting the cleanup it has needed for many years. In less techie news, I dusted off my spreadsheets and player analysis formulas for the draft, which is something I haven't done in a very long time. So perhaps it feels like a homecoming of sorts. Most of you don't know that I suffered a severe medical emergency about 18 months ago (maybe I'll go into details some time, but I'm not ready to do that yet because I don't want any sympathy) and so quite frankly, it's nice to be doing anything.
What are you excited about?
I built the Blazers in a way I've never tried building a team before, and I'm curious to see whether this method works or turns into a flaming dumpster. My theory says it can work... but theory is always easy until it has to meet reality.
What made you say, "whoa!", and do a double take?
The reveal of the creation draft. It was a little disappointing to get pick #20... and then absolutely terrifying to realize picks 1, 3, 4, and 5 were all going to be in my division. I don't think I fully realized that until about three rounds into the creation draft when it dawned on me I have to deal with Magic, Moses, Parish, and Theus. I guess at least Bird isn't here. But challenge accepted!

The first thing I noticed about the offseason was all the hard work by @WigNosy , @IamQuailman , and @BigDaddyd8720 —probably @AngryBanana too. These guys have been doing so much behind the scenes. Thanks to everyone involved! (Hope they are getting extra point for all this work.)

The offseason felt like it lasted forever, especially the draft. We probably should've just drafted like 6 players and simmed the y/y players.

The thing that made me say “whoa” was the number of people who joined after the reboot. We lost 3 commissioners, and we still have two players waiting to join.

I'm excited about my team, the addition of the “old heads”, and maybe getting some trades from people sent my way, instead of having to send trades with no response… I now understand @IamQuailman pain.

As for my team, being so late in the draft made me want to build a "win-now" squad since most people were scooping up young talent to develop and compete in a few years. I don’t think I have the best roster, but with a few trades, I should be very competitive. Speaking of which—anyone got an extra power forward or point guard laying around?

What has all of this been like for you?

- Kinda like waking up a part of me that I forgot about. When I burned out on initial PBSL, the idea of checking the index every day and writing articles and posting memes felt like effort that I couldn't muster again. Then the reset happened and I started thinking about the game again, checking the index, ignoring my kids' cries to see if someone had asked a question in my presser. It's a very strange feeling but I'm here for it.

What are you excited about?
- Watching the league with real players through the eyes of the GMs who missed it. Seeing how Wig plays after several real years of being away. Jumping ship to the Wolves the second I have the chance.

What made you say, "whoa!", and do a double take?
- Doug's Laimbeer pick. What a reach!

Just kidding. Honestly what made me say whoa was seeing Wig come back, and also seeing other GMs like Chad and Ballsohard express sadness that they couldn't get in for the new creation draft. Going back to real players gives a sense of excitement we haven't seen here since...2013? Holy shit that was so long ago.

It was a busy one. I decided as soon as we were going to change up to a creation draft, that I would try to help out David and Doug since I was one of the people that both brought David into the league as well as someone with a decent amount of node experience from when we used to have team nodes. I look at myself as more of a moderator of NPBSL, instead of a Admin role like Doug and David. As such, I was not as busy as Doug, David, or Wig, but I was for sure on the backend trying to help keep the ship get supplied for this new voyage. I also unofficially did the coordinator volunteer job this season as well where I won the media coordinator spot, so I have also been busy with trying to move over important documents from the old forum to the new one as well as updating rules that I want to implement as the media coordinator.

I am excited about the reset in many ways. I am excited about this new team that I have that is completely different from my old one. I am most excited about everyone else being excited. When we have a fully involved group of people in NPBSL, it truly makes this a very fun side project of mine.

When I got called out for simming the Hawks pick. lol, JK. It was not malicious, and I hope the Hawks are happy with their team. I think it was really Wig's involvement out the gate and how it has improved the league so far. Things like system updates as well as his media involvement early on has been outstanding. I have also been impressed with Doug and David. Everyone kept saying how much of a burden a creation draft would be, but I think the three of us surprisingly handled it pretty well. It never felt like it was too much of a burden.Doug did a great job leading the charge, and David has equally done a good job of picking it up on the fly.

1. I feel like I'm back in the saddle again. I've been here for 5 PBSL seasons, which is about a year or so real time. I came into a team that was decently put together but I definitely did my own work to make them a competing side right off the bat. 3 seasons of playoffs, 2 finals appearances and then season 4 I had to try and rebuild so I tanked and season 5 I made the playoffs again (to prove a point and not let someone get an easy pick lol). Not that I wasn't looking forward to a total rebuild, but I knew it was going to not be as fun as a competing season, so to get all that torn away and restarting with a full league draft was definitely something I was looking forward too.

2. I was very excited for the draft. I have my own way of valuing players in my spreadsheets so it was really fun to follow along and see who was making good picks or bad picks according to my own theory, and then using that to pick the best available player when it got back around to my pick. I know preseason means nothing, so I am very excited for sim 1, but going 5-1 and being #1 in the West is a great start and helps me feel validated in the way I was looking at players.

3. I know they mentioned it, but the sheer amount of work it took to pull of a creation draft. I only see a small bit being on the outside, but totally redoing the websites and the forums and seeing a couple old names being excited for a creation to the point of coming back into the league. So with saying that I want to make sure everyone who helped the league through this process gets thanked, so THANK YOU to everyone who helped in any way!

Its been a fun offseason, I got really immersed in putting together a draft board and researching players. Definitely didnt feel as prolonged as the previous creation drafts from my POV. Im excited to dive into an era of basketball I was not alive for but have some tertiary knowledge about

What made you say, "whoa!", and do a double take?
Wig briefly touched on this in his Draft preview pod but I found it pretty interesting how some of the older stars werent as valued in the 1st Round. I default as more of a "win-now" GM than a slow builder but to see Kareem and George Gervin continuously slide did surprise me quite a bit, if Dantley was off the board for my pick Gervin would've been my guy

What has all of this been like for you?
The reboot has been enjoyable for me. Outside of the resim of the lottery. I am excited to build a team from scratch and see what I can do to compete despite not getting one of the top picks. It's nice not to have inherited anyone for the first time in my SLOE career. I know there were rumblings of the draft taking too long, but it never bothered me. I got to make all of my picks myself or via a list which is great.

What are you excited about?
I get to build my team from scratch. I can look at players and have an idea of what to expect of them. I see next year's draft class and I can visualize how they would fit with the team I built.

What made you say, "whoa!", and do a double take?
The B/P Moses Malone controversy. Having not been an initial member of the old SLOE league, I didn't realize that some players had higher than 100 ratings. I didn't think that the ratings would come down and some colors would be adjusted. At the end of the day, Malone is still a beast, but it definitely caught me off guard.

Also, I should have done a little more research into the quality of each. position for later rounds. I have built my team in a specific way, but I may have pivoted with a little more research.

One of the things I was looking forward to the most was getting the chance to start all over with my current knowledge, as I honestly had no idea what I was doing at the start of my sim career. And then...I got a crazy idea after letting Dr. K have his favorite team, because I had to find some way to get myself excited about having the Utah Jazz exactly one season removed from being in New Orleans. So all of my focus was turned towards making that idea a reality.
What has all of this been like for you?

It was a bit of a shock for me, as I'd set up my team for a complete refresh in the off-season, pulled off an upset and took a game off the Pistons in the playoffs, and had just started checking back in after my usual post-season sabbatical...and I come back to a new house being built, and the guys working on it were like "Oh yeah, it was totally on fire while you were gone!"

But, it's been awesome to see new life breathed into the league. It's not just familiar old faces returning, it's just an all-around general level of excitement and energy that's palpable, even if we're not all always present/adjusting to being back on a schedule.
What are you excited about?
I'm not sure actually. I built this team as a joke, quite frankly, though I do have a running narrative in my head that would eventually make this a pretty inspiring story built around my favorite player (and no, it's not even close to who you think it might be - unless you remember one specific trade from my early days). Still, I can't guarantee that I'll see it through all the way and not just jump ship for an expansion team the first chance I get. It didn't hit me until I looked at the list of open teams just how much of my NBA fandom is tied to New Orleans and the post-merger expansion teams/identities. So I'm going to really struggle to stay invested in a franchise I have little interest in, even if I love their 90s jerseys and have a ready-made saga in mind. I guess if I have to pick something, it's being excited to see if I can build a great team under a self-imposed handicap.
What made you say, "whoa!", and do a double take?
Looking through the index and seeing just who was around in 1980...and who wasn't. Just imagine, we're still a few years away from the OG Wemby, Ralph Sampson entering the league. Dan Issel is still in the league. Mike Dunleavy, Kobe Bryant, and Mike Bibby's dads are here. Dolph Schayes' son is entering the draft. There's more future coaches and GMs here than you can count. We're barely a half decade removed from the ABA. I love delving into time and history, and this has been a real treat for me. (Can I at least change my name to the Utah Stars, please?) Seriously, the only reason Utah kept the name Jazz is because they moved too late for the NBA to approve a name change and they were too lazy to do it later! Hell, there's a mountain of historical inaccuracies in the index, what's one more! )

I feel like I kicked back and watched some serious magic happen. The way PBSL S72 ended, I thought sim league was over. Now it's probably better than ever, at least as long as I have been here. There was always at least one or two GMs with one foot out the door, so seeing people clamoring to get in? Jeez, it's Fryeing weird lol

What has all of this been like for you?
Rollercoaster. I did not enjoy S72. I tried to write some wrongs with the final media coordinator role, and the commish not only didn't have my back, but came at me hard - in the forums - for trying to hold or maintain any kind of standard. Because that standard meant he didn't earn three points for writing a league update. It was so absurd that if he didn't leave, I was definitely leaving.

So, with that all in the rearview mirror, I didn't care if we reset, jetset, whatever. I was pissed at Doug for not having to pay the tax man, but if he didn't get involved the way he did? Well, we'd still be humping along in a S73 where few were motivated (except you @BigDaddyd8720 , bless your gd heart) and everything felt...stale from several seasons of general malaise. So thanks to @IamQuailman we're in a whole new world now, and it's Fryeing great.

What are you excited about?
New leadership, period. And learning real time what all the Wig fuss has been about. That guy's a Fryeing wizard, and I'm sure he doesn't think so, but he is.

Seriously though, that guy spun up a league that ran for a decade with minimal maintenance. Who does that? I mean, maybe it's not super complicated, but it's a testament to a job well done. This iteration will last TWO decades I bet (planned obsolescence will discredit this statement, but still).

What made you say, "whoa!", and do a double take?
Getting purple purple Moses Malone. And then getting a blue/purple Moses Malone. My rollercoaster never stops, but it would be cool if it did. With an inaugural NPBSL championship. A boy can dream, can't he?
Somehow I manage.

What has all of this been like for you?
It's been really good. After years of wanting to quit and not being fully invested, I feel good about the direction the league is going. Creation draft was fun and faster than last time around. I do like to send a huge thanks to everyone who has play a key role in the reboot.

What are you excited about?

I am excited to see how my team will be the 2nd time around with these real players. 1st time around I was learning the game and didn't know a lot of the things I know now. Hoping the knowledge I've gain translates to this version of the game. Can't lie I haven't been this excited about the league in a very long time. I hope this excitement for me isn't just a temporary thing tho.

What made you say, "whoa!", and do a double take?

The return of Wignosy. I thought he had retired forever but having him back in the fold is great for the league. I am sure he prolly thought the league would've folded long ago when we all started way back when.

- All in all the off season was an...experience. From what I can see the league is a great place moving forward with a great group. Still amazed at the commitment from everyone to this league. Its very cool and stoked to be a part of the new beginning.

What has all of this been like for you?
- What a ride my first season/offseason has been. I don't really count the offseason when I started as I was scrambling to figure out all the rules. Really enjoyed engaging with everyone on the forum and not really worrying about my dumpster fire of a team. Was just here for the comradery and to learn, but boy was I not prepared for the amount of shit to hit the biggest fan. I questioned if I wanted to stick around, but I couldnt look away. And i am really glad I didn't

What are you excited about?
- I am glad I didnt abort my membership and weathered the storm because I am very excited about this fresh start, real players, and lucking into a level playing field. Very excited to build a roster and compete. Lets get it!

What made you say, "whoa!", and do a double take?
- Besides some of the FB messages? Kidding. I would say Dr. J and Darrell Griffith falling to me at the end of the first round. I learned alot about basketball in the 80s and some one the numbers guys youve never heard of were putting up was absurd haha.
Welcome to the Garden!

Mine was interesting I guess you can say. I became the mentor for the new commissioner after basically being 2 feet out the door of the league (mentally for sure). So I had to take on more of an administrative role in the league that I hadn't really had in a long while. I also wasn't super involved in setting up & running the last creation draft, so that was an interesting experience. I apologize to all of you I tagged & nagged throughout the process trying to get the info we needed to move the thing along.

What has all of this been like for you?
It's been a complete breath of fresh air. You can feel the interest level like 1000x's higher than it's been for a long time. For me, I feel re-invested in the league and the people here. Like a giant weight lifted off our shoulders with a fresh start in the league. I also lost access to my Facebook in the midst of the creation draft thanks to a stupid hacker, so I'm kinda missing out on the excitement of the chat.

What are you excited about?
Outside of the league as a whole, I'm really excited about all the old heads who returned or felt the JUICE that came with a creation draft and playing with real players. I'm also excited to see how the newer GMs who only had experience with "fake players" and how they handle the historical modifiers of 3pt shooting & expectations of real players. I'm also excited to see @WigNosy back and super involved in the league!

What has all of this been like for you?
It’s been really eye opening for me. From stepping up to being commish, to starting a new creation draft, to learning all the back end stuff of this league. I’ve been taking everything one day at a time and I really am starting to feel like I’m getting more and more comfortable with my role. I knew it was gonna be a lot of work but Doug and Charles and Wig have all been a huge help with this transition. I definitely would not be able to do this without them. And the support I’ve received from many people in this league along the way really motivates me to find ways to make this league even better.

What are you excited about?
I’m most excited for two things:
1. Being commish. It’s something I’ve been interested in since I joined the league and I know I can be a big reason this league continues on for many years to come.
2. While I was already starting to see my previous team finally develop and get to a point where it was competing, I am excited at getting to start over when everyone else has to start over. It was challenging taking over a bad team while others were already hitting their peaks. Now I get to really see if I learned anything from the previous league

What made you say, "whoa!", and do a double take?
Honestly, Wig’s knowledge of everything involving this league. I had heard about how he originally set everything up but didn’t realize just exactly what all went into it until I had the privilege of talking to him. This guy is definitely way smarter than me and I’m definitely looking forward to learning from him as I learn even more about being commish
