Good question. I think you need to have an honest self-assessment and evaluate where your team stands. Do you have valuable prospects? If so, do you like them enough to build around? If yes, start participating and rack up the points while you let them develop naturally via TC. If you don't like your prospect pool, trade them away for win-now talent and compete immediately. You just need to make a plan and start executing. You can always pivot once you start. But you have to start. The longer you wait to decide, the more your team will languish and that does nobody any good from a GM's perspective.garbageman wrote: Sun Nov 26, 2023 11:42 am Sham Smith, Bulls.com: As a recidivist tax offender, you're about to come out of the tax after several teams (Nets, Jazz) came out of the tax only to feel the sting of not having points for things like extra insurance. What's the smartest way that a team can re-enter society after being released from tax jail?
To 45 - surround yourself with the best people. Need to find the latest loophole in the tax code? Whatever you do, don't call @jlmarines. He loves to pay taxes, especially when nobody expects him to pay. Don't be jlmarines. Don't be a sucker.greepleairport wrote: Sun Nov 26, 2023 5:44 pm You have done a good job staying competitive in tax jail, serving as a solid option to be voted coach of the year in S67. DO you have any advice for future president of the United States of America Donald J. Trump? Bad advice only?
Seriously though, are you going to keep relatively competitive until the tax is paid off? Or do you plan to start tanking to acquire a nice blue chip through the draft?
In order...jlmarines wrote: Sun Nov 26, 2023 8:01 pm Justin Bieber; Teremana.com: After you pay your tax bill, how much are you going to spend? $500-600mil? How does it feel to lose to the Cavs this year again? Are you jealous Jonathan Isaac is having an amazing time in Cleveland? Are you going to ask Superdog for help and trade? Is jlmarines your hero? Is it true, you almost quit SIM because the Cavs had a better record last year?

definitely a therapist - it used to be a lonely stint in tax jail. But now teams are fiscally irresponsible all the time so it has been nice to have company. If @garbageman is open to bribes, I'm sure we could work something out to get this debt forgiven.78# wrote: Mon Nov 27, 2023 6:13 am Any advice for GMs who are about to be in tax jail? Is it more important having an accountant or therapist? Anyway to wipe the books clean without anyone knowing?
