S68 Cavs Preseason Presser

Welcome to the Cavs Preseason Presser. We are pleased to welcome the one, the chosen, jlmarines. Acknowledge him.

GM jlmarines: Move over Grizz and Celtics. There's a new powerhouse in town. The Cavs dynasty run has just started. Be afraid of PF Jonathan Isaac. Acknowledge him! PF Isaac will once again take us to the playoffs. Expect a deep run. This offseason our priority was to sign veteran players that could provide immediate depth to our stud PF Isaac and SG Devin Vassell.

GM jlmarines: We are pleased to resign Chief K. We know Chief K is getting older and will need help on the defense side. We signed C Jeffrey Caballero and C Angelo Romero. C Caballero and C Romero will provide immediate depth for Chief K.. We are also pleased to re-sign PF Jae Wilcox. PF Wilcox is a great defensive player who will also provide immediate help for PF Isaac.

GM jlmarines: We did not resign SF Karlo Pearson. We felt our young stud SF Jason Marotta is ready to start. We are excited to see SF Marotta dominate the league. Do not sleep on Marotta.

GM jlmarines: And of course we are excited for SG Vassell. Expect SG Vassell to be an all-star this year. We resigned PG/SG Taylor. We expect Taylor to be a solid backup for Vassell. We expect the Cavs to make it to the playoffs and dominate our rivalry opponents. I can not wait to crush AB and K100 dreams again.

Vassell and Isaac are the future. Vassell is not going anywhere. He's staying in the most beautiful city in America, Cleveland! I am missing one piece. I bid for a few PGs during UFA but I missed. I am open for trades. But, will see how the season goes. Thank you for the question.

Do you think you will be jumping any teams this season in the playoff race?

The Alpha conference is tough. There is a lot of elite players. Last season, I was the 7th seed. I do expect to jump a team. Maybe the 6th seed. But I don't see the Cavs finishing top 4. Thank you for the question.

Issac and Vassell are the only two players I will keep for sure. The rest, I'm open. It will really depend how the season goes. If, I have a disappointing season, I will decline most of the team options. Thank you for the question.

I like Chief K. But he's declining. It will depend how the season goes. If, I win a lot of games, I will keep Chief K and hopefully be a serious playoff team. Thank you for the question.

Chet Youbetcha, Dimmadome News: What’s your feelings about having a failed Celtics front court as players on your team? Do you plan to win the league by fouling your way there?

Sometimes players need change. When you treat players with 3 delicious meals a day, a room to stay, and a gym with a working AC, players will fight for you. Look at the facts, Cavs won 51 games last season. Everyone wants to play for the Cavs. The secret is out. Cleveland is the place to be.

Brooklyn Gazette: Now with training camp over and seeing the great Spurs camp, are you surprised to see the growth over Tony Newland or did you know it and thats why you sent that contract? If so were you actively trying to acquire him via S&T?

I like Tony Newland. He has a lot of potential. I gave him a solid offered. However, my priority was a PG. I needed the extra money to offer a big contract, however, the PG took another offer. It's the reason I didn't pursuit a S&T. I had hopes I was getting a PG. Thanks for the question.
