Cavs 2039-2040 Preseason Presser
Welcome to the Cavs Preseason Presser. We are pleased to welcome our All-America, Show-Stopper, Icon, Lord GM jlmarines.
GM jlmarines: I'm fired up and excited about all the additions to our basketball team. We have witnessed young warriors who have committed to be part of the Cavs familia. It is definitely a special day to celebrate. It has been an exciting day for everybody here. I do want to take this moment to thank everyone, all of our staff, fans, and especially other GM sharks who has underestimated the Cavs movement. We embrace the underdog label. We love it!
GM jlmarines: First order of business, we signed our stud and SIM all-star Brando Boston Jr to a long term. He's not going nowhere. We were able to steal future all-star Brandley Connell from the 76ers. Connell has the size to play either guard position, but his elite ball-handling skills make him best suited to run the point. Connell will be our starting PG. I am pleased we were able to draft 1st round picks Scottie Barnes and Charles Hintz. Hintz is big, strong combo forward with big time potential. Hintz versatile defense and powerful transition game will be enough to get him nominated for rookie of the year award. Barnes is one of those players who can do it all on the basketball court. Barnes has the size to defend in the paint and the skills to initiate the offense. Barnes is a competitor who gives great effort and plays the game the right way. We believe Barnes has the potential to be next Magic Johnson.
GM jlmarines: We are definitely looking forward to what the future holds, and I really think we were able to address many of the needs that we had, not only immediately, but also long term. We have enough cap space and open to signing top free agent players. Our future is bright and I can't wait to start winning. Enjoy the process. Go Cavs!

Your plan is to start Connell at PG. Is he the long term solution at the position?

Chet Youbetcha, Dimmadome News: With their being a few years between Hintz, Barnes to BBJ and Connell; do you think that moving the first two for another player closer in age to the later two is something you would be open to, or look to try to trade for?

This was question was asked in my presser, and I’m stealing it, what would success look like this season?
6 Rings. That's it. That's the tweet.
Re: Cavs 2039-2040 Preseason Presser
You have invested a lot of money and draft capital in the backcourt and the results look promising with BBJ, Barnes, Connell, and Hintz locked in for the next 4 seasons together. Now the focus shifts to the frontcourt. Are you planning to give your young guys time to develop this season despite the veteran presence of Conrad McRae and Joseph McKnight or are your future starters not yet on this team?

Sham Smith, Bulls.com: The teams that referred you to the league, the Thunder and 76ers, both entered the league with teams that'd been neglected and both were very patient in developing their prospects rather than trading to compete early on. Are you looking to employ this same strategy, or do you plan on shaking things up faster?
Re: Cavs 2039-2040 Preseason Presser
Absolutely! He's young, talented, and plays with a chip on his shoulder. Connell wasn't appreciated with the 76ers. Connell is thrilled to be with the Cavs and eager to show the league he's the real deal.

"Winning isn’t everything – It’s the only thing.” We only won 26 games last year. Our goal is win more games than last year.TheSyndicate wrote: ↑Thu Feb 04, 2021 9:35 pmThis was question was asked in my presser, and I’m stealing it, what would success look like this season?

The Cavs are committed to winning. In this league winning is the only thing that matters. We are open for all possibilities. We are not afraid to make moves if necessary. We have talent in our roster, money in the bank, and draft picks. We will not be intimated by nasty ruthless sharks such as the GM of 76ers.AngryBanana wrote: ↑Thu Feb 04, 2021 8:41 pmChet Youbetcha, Dimmadome News: With their being a few years between Hintz, Barnes to BBJ and Connell; do you think that moving the first two for another player closer in age to the later two is something you would be open to, or look to try to trade for?

My goal is to win the next game one possession at a time. That’s it. I don’t have any other goals or strategy. I really get motivated when mean sharks underestimate the Cavs movement. The Cavs are committed to one thing only, winning. Year 2 will be a interesting year for the Cavs familia.garbageman wrote: ↑Thu Feb 04, 2021 11:56 pmSham Smith, Bulls.com: The teams that referred you to the league, the Thunder and 76ers, both entered the league with teams that'd been neglected and both were very patient in developing their prospects rather than trading to compete early on. Cavs are looking for ball players. We are looking for players that will shut up and dribble. Everyone in the roster will play and be evaluated. We are looking for dogs! We will make changes if necessary. We have money in the back, if we think a proven player is needed in our roster. Stay tuned.K-100 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 04, 2021 9:45 pmYou have invested a lot of money and draft capital in the backcourt and the results look promising with BBJ, Barnes, Connell, and Hintz locked in for the next 4 seasons together.
