The Suns are thrilled with their hot start in the playoffs. Some sources have hinted that the Suns have already started scouting the Nuggets' and Warriors' rosters. Although they respect Paul George and the talent of the Jazz, the Suns consider themselves a much better team and believe that with a new GM, the Jazz aren't as big of a threat as they might appear on the surface. The Spurs are in familiar territory being down 3-1 to a #1 seed in the first round. Last season, they moved Josh Smith to point guard in games 5-6. Expect the Spurs to try something similarly out-of-the-box as they look for some advantage against the Suns.

Re: Hoopshype
Sources say the Jazz are extremely pleased with their performance vs the Rockets. Despite being new to the playoffs, the Jazz GM has impressed in his rookie season. Should they close out the Rockets, the Jazz likely will take on the Suns, but they are very confident: they believe Paul George and the team they've built around him can compete with anyone in the league. The Rockets sold some good future assets to try and compete this year, but injuries and simply not being as good as the top 4 teams in the West have them staring straight in the face of a first round exit. It'll be curious to see where the Rockets move from here as some think they may be in for a long rebuild without many great assets to start over with.
Re: Hoopshype
The Warriors were pleasantly surprised by their sweep per source. With such a high variance offense, they were expecting to drop at least one. Sources are saying they're not even remotely planning for the possibility of facing the Sonics and are fully focused on the Nuggets. The Mavericks, without their pick next year, believe that with a few tweaks, they can turn their team into a 45-48 win team. Many around the league questioned their decision to compete this year, but they believe that with a bit more talent, they can win a series next season.
Re: Hoopshype
The Nuggets had a bit of a hiccup vs the Sonics, but we heard they never truly panicked. They were 100% confident they'd win at least one in Seattle, and they won both to take a 3-1 lead. Inside their own walls, they view Game 5 as a formality and are looking forward to their matchup with the Warriors. The Sonics are bitterly disappointed with their performance at home. They know they are likely dead in the water, but they are excited for their future that contains McCollum, Thomas, and Parker.
Re: Hoopshype
The Magic had Harland Ellinger in for a workout today. Ellinger has ranged on draft boards from #1 down to #4 or 5 on some boards. But many, including the Magic, are enamored with his scoring and passing ability. One league scout was quoted "Just looking at the offensive end, I don't think we've seen a guy like this since James Harden." The Magic are expected to work out Jeffrey Duren and Gustave Lecroix later this week.
Re: Hoopshype
The soon-to-be-formed Charlotte Bobcats have been focused mainly on the expansion draft, but they are indeed keeping an eye on the rookie draft as well. Sources say they are ignoring Duren and Lecroix as they believe there is no chance ether slip to 4. They are instead focusing on Ellinger, Grimaldi, and McNary. As of now, we hear they are leaning Ellinger, but feel as though he's the most likely to go in the top 3. They are split down the middle on Grimaldi and McNary and will be hosting them for pre-draft workouts soon.
Re: Hoopshype
Sources say the 76ers believe this to truly be a 2 man draft. They believe Duren and Lecroix are a huge step above the rest and are hoping they are lucky enough to land a top 2 pick. After the top 2, we hear they are very low on Ellinger because of his total lack of defensive abilities. Around the league, there are whispers that should the 76ers miss out on a top 2 pick, they'll look to trade the pick ether for a veteran or as a combo with one of their players for a top 2 pick.

Adrian Wojnarowski of @TheVertical reporting that mega-blockbuster deal sending the Atlanta Hawks All-Star Rudy Gay to an Eastern Conference rival is all but signed, sealed, and delivered to the league office. Hawks are looking to take a step back and retool after a disappointing finish to a stellar season.

Reggie Jackson looks to be a major benefactor for the leagues recent emphasis on point guards. Told his agent used George Hill as a player comp.

The Bucks RFA getting a lot of interest. Kanter and Irving receiving max offers and Faried getting offers as high a 18 million per season.

My sources have caught up to Klay Thompson and got his opinion on RFA: "I don't get why this is so hard, am I not worth a max? Either accept or decline. It's that simple, I thought I was worth it, but I'm really doubting myself at the moment."

Sources say the Warriors have agreed to three trades to rebuild this season. Jerebko and Kaman look to be on the move day 60, while Artest looks to be on the move 60 days after day 60.

Big time, star-studded, inter-conference trade in place for Dec 16. Look for it to be submitted to the league office once trade restrictions are lifted on Dec 15.
Re: Hoopshype
Its been a highly competitive 1st Half of the PBSL season with many top teams fighting for their division crowns, one of the most contested is the Central, where the Indiana Pacers have reigned supreme ALL year thus far with the Milwaukee Bucks (Losers) close behind their tails. Many PBSL news outlets have favored the Indiana Annual Drop-Off to happen in the 2nd half but when pressed for a comment all Pacers' GM PaulyP had to say was "The North Remembers" before storming off
Re: Hoopshype
As all other news reports have reported, the Pacers decline is in full swing. One source has the media quoted, "What the media wants, the media gets. Once this comes to pass, we, the all-powerful media, will enact more demands. For example, Anthony Davis will be traded to Boston. We say it, so it shall be."
