Wait we shouldn't hurry making a decision but we should hurry to allow inputting for ufa2?42PhD wrote:That is set up for UFA 2?
Or that is what they are signing Wig up for? Or that is what Wig wants but we aren't there?
I don't see Wig saying it. I know while he is gone, he is blindly backing removing my fair market bids and maybe my cap space, too, but I don't think they can constrain his future action or his timetable.
And I certainly don't see anything for UFA2 other than hurrying.

What I suggested in the past was have someone input, someone else check. It can be done in parallel and might not add much clock time on most days, though it would take a decent amount of time from someone else, though not full input time.
Another suggestion I had was only do that for stuff in by a certain time (early), or to allow a screen shot for review by the GM for those who get their stuff in early.

Re: My rejected proposals
It's getting to the point on where whatever we do, you're not going to be happy with it because you can't let go of what happened and focus on what's next. You get presented options. The ones you can do in the game logistically without affecting everyone else. You don't like them so you want more. You give "better" solutions, we let you pursue them and when the answer isn't what you want you want more options. We have presented a possible solution for the future and you complain that nothing is being done about the future bc it's not in place now. You complain about decisions being made too fast, but you keep pounding the pavement for answers now. You were given a noon deadline on a. Decision and have posted roughly 12 times since then and haven't made a decision. Doesn't seem like the time is a problem. You're making this personal, not anyone else. And you don't have a damn sympathetic ear in the league because of the way you've acted.42PhD wrote:No. I never suggested that. Re: My rejected proposals
This is not an accurate representation. I wanted my proposals heard and explanations. This is completely fair of me to ask. You saw my messages, they were fair. This regarding the specific damage to me. And I have not been asking for anything other than what I laid out above, and even then I said I am not even sure I'd want it if it was possible, allowed, etc.
Then there is the underlying cause, a separate thing that affects everyone. I am still on the same issue about inputting needing improvement, and I have always said that a known issue deserves attention. It has happened again, there has been no address of this from before and before and before, so I raise it now.
I don't see it as personal at all. I, in fact, did not start with the fed up talk. I am not the one talking about hurt feelings. I m taking about a hurt team and an asterisk or two. I am discussing what happened now and in the past in the context of a error frequency. I have also talked about how things are presented to happen as intended and how to better get that.
I never brought up a conspiracy, by the way, which is the only place something personal could arise. You did... as an assessment of what I said. I said errors affect some more than others, and I said the Cavs get affected more. That's not intentional, but it's true and it's true the inputs simply do not get the attention they deserve. Some inputs do. Some dormant rules come to be enforced on the Cavs. Etc. These are facts. None have been disputed. I feel the issue is more generic human error with uneven error checking, to be transparent, which is why my solutions center around error checking. Not perfection, checking.
I also completely do not care about sympathy. I could not possibly care less if someone believes this is not just waiting to happen to them or perhaps has not already.
I also do not see the issue with taking the time given to me to make a tough decision.
I also can not help if this is read with venom that is not present.

Re: My rejected proposals
what if in the meantime your dcs and rest of FA is recorded on youtube and you get a link so you see that everything was put in as you requested?
Re: My rejected proposals
I suggested a screen shot, but a video was brought up after one of the prior issues. Not sure which one.
I don't want special treatment. I want fair treatment.

Re: My rejected proposals
Since it is frowned upon for some reason to post while thinking prior to a deadline, I will make my decision now.
1) I request Webber be removed from my roster entirely and returned to FA.
2) If anyone thinks this is inappropriate, I rescind 1). The protest need not be made to me or publicly, and I never even need to be made aware of it other than him sitting in my roster.
I will not be submitting bids or TC or depth charts other than recommended until a better system is in place. I am not asking for perfect. Better. That may be today.
Exceptions to this are actions with determined outcomes... Waiving, signing mins later, trading, trainings. This trade put me into the tax deeper than I planned, so I need to be able to get my roster down, trade Marshall (on the block), etc. so I can manage the tax position thrust upon me if he stays.
In this case, removing Webber is likely more a harm than a good to the Cavs, but I bid low on him, and I was told others bid higher. They should have some semblance of a chance to bid on a guy they valued.
I am abstaining from UFA so my team will operate as if Webber is on my team for the purposes of signings, just not trades.
If he stays in the team, he's going on IR, just as Jackson s slated to do last season but did not.
I think that this is the right thing considering it was not a bid I made or would have and the way it played out in the sim affected others negatively, but we still feel the burdens of having him and not having him in various degrees.

It would allow error checking and put the onus on me. Comfort is not an issue.RPF wrote:would a screenshot or video make you more comfortable until we can input for ourselves?42PhD wrote:I suggested a screen shot, but a video was brought up after one of the prior issues. Not sure which one.

There needs to be a better system, not something to single out the Cavs. That's all.

Re: My rejected proposals
The better system is coming. If the problem is human error, and we don't have input bots created yet, then as soon as Wig returns and institutes a master computer, users will have the option to do their own inputting. The mistake happened, and you have made your decision on that, so we're good there. But it has been mentioned several times that a computer will be set up that anyone can get into and do their own inputting.42PhD wrote:I know. This, to me, solves our issues. If there are users that do not want to input (like me), they can continue with what they want to do. If there are users who feel like they want to take inputting into their own hands, that will be an option.
Is this a suitable solution for you? If it is, I think we're good. If it isn't, then maybe we need to talk about that.

6 Rings. That's it. That's the tweet.

What you say sounds like it fits what I laid out. If everyone knows these details but me, fine, but I don't know them, and it is not clear that your description matches what will happen.
I raised this before, and it was rejected, so this is news to me.

Re: My rejected proposals
I only picked it up from what Doug and Chad said in this thread and the first round one. And yes, we don't know if it will happen as designed, but I'm willing to bet there will be progress towards it soon. At this point, all anyone can do is make plans. That was the plan I read about here. Hopefully it comes to fruition and we can have something in place that benefits the league.42PhD wrote:What you say sounds like it fits what I laid out. Re: My rejected proposals
Wig mentioned the "master computer" thing to me in passing, as it is still being in progress. He's going to have mutliple log in points where people can log in to input their own DCs, etc. It is not completed yet, stiill in the works. This is all I know. When Wig comes back from his trip, he was planning on talking more about this at length.
I'll leave that to him, because I don't want to mispeak on the issue or details.
Webber is now back in the UFA pool; anyone who already submitted bids may resubmit to account for this.

Re: My rejected proposals
In town for supplies with cell access.
Short version: I got parts to build a computer that will be available for owners to use to do their own inputs right before camping trip. Did not have enough time to do all the necessary configuration can installs. Will be doing when I get back, computer will support multiple nodes (so we don't have to worry about everyone trying to use it at once, especially close to deadlines). This option will be online as soon as I can get it after I get back.
Since I don't have time for a lengthy comment on the Webber situation let me say it sucks mightily and if I had been in a position to see some of the solutions posted before now (an hour before deadline) I might have run with them, but to change things with an hour to go isn't fair either. Also, as I said before I left, Doug has my full backing - he did the best he could in a craptastic situation.
