2006-07 Hall of Fame Nominations

Post by JNR » Thu Mar 10, 2016 10:14 am

NEW RULE: YOU WILL RECEIVE 1 POINT FOR NOMINATING SOMEONE FOR THE HALL OF FAME. IF THE PLAYER YOU NOMINATE GETS VOTED INTO THE HALL OF FAME, YOU GET ANOTHER POINT.

Welcome to the call for nominees to the People’s Basketball Sim League Hall of Fame. The rules are simple. Nominate a player you think deserves to be mentioned among the greatest players to play in this league. Championships, all-star appearances, funny picture blogs: all of these things could mean enough to warrant a nomination. Each GM is allowed one nomination. There’s only one requirement: the player has to be retired from the PBSL. There is no time restriction on retirement – as soon as a player retires, they are eligible for the HOF.

So what’s to stop you from just sending Slava Medvedenko to the Hall of Fame because you like his name? Well, first of all, he’s not retired yet, so you’re clearly not paying attention. But what else is going to stop you? I am.

I will review the nominations and put out a ballot of those we think qualify to be elected to the Hall. And then you vote on those players to see if they get enshrined.

-Nominees on the ballot with over 75% yes votes get into the HOF
-Nominees on the ballot with over 50% yes votes (but under 75%) are automatically considered for next year's ballot ("free" nomination that doesn't cost any owner a yearly nomination).

Nominations open now and will stay open until the end of the first round of the playoffs. The ballot will be released after the first round of the playoffs and voting will last until the season is over. Reply to this post with your nomination.

Below are the most recent retirees who are available for nomination.

NEW RULE: YOU WILL RECEIVE 1 POINT FOR NOMINATING SOMEONE FOR THE HALL OF FAME. IF THE PLAYER YOU NOMINATE GETS VOTED INTO THE HALL OF FAME, YOU GET ANOTHER POINT.

He retired a Cavalier. I'm sure we drove him to it, but still.
There's no "I" in team, but you can find "Eat me" if you push it too far.

3 Time Champion, 6 Time All Star, 4 Time All-NBA Player. Cedric Ceballos was a nightmare matchup for any forward in the NBA. 7 times in his NBA career, Ceballos averaged 20 points per game. During his 10 year prime, Ceballos averaged 21.8 points and 8.25 rebounds per game, shooting 49% from the floor with a 56.3% True Shooting %. He put up PER's of at least 21 for 10 straight years, with his highest reaching an insane 30.6. For his career, he always stepped his game up in the playoffs, averaging 21.8 PPG and 7.8 RPG compared to 18.5/7.5 in the regular season. Not only did he score more, but he increased his efficiency, shooting 51% from the field with a crazy True Shooting % of 58%. Despite being a mere 6'7, he once grabbed 23 rebounds in a single game. He was a matchup nightmare, as he was too strong for Small Forwards but too quick for power forwards. This shows as he averaged over 8 free throws a game in 4 separate years including getting to the line 9.4 times per game in one season. And shooting 75% from the line, he was efficient getting to the line as well. Twice, he won the championship as the second best player on the team, being the Robin to Shawn Kemp's Batman. Cedric Ceballos was probably the best Robin this league has seen so far. In his prime, he was a top 10-12 player in the NBA. But unlike the other guys who were top 10-12 for a few years and faded out, he was a top 15-20ish player for 10 incredible seasons, and he has 3 rings to prove he's more worthy of the Hall of Fame than those other guys.
