S72 Town Hall #12.1 The Champ Is Here (2 this week)
Who is going to win the Championship this season?
What will their playoff run look like?
Who will give them their greatest test?
Who will carry them to glory?
Rules: 1 point if you give thoughtful answers, which I will award after the timer ends for responses. The timer ends for responses at the moment the corresponding week's Sim is run.
Note: Use approximately 5 sentences as your bare minimum for 1 point. If you write 3 long, complex sentences, you'll still get a point. If you write 5, 3 word sentences, you will not get a point. Don't @ me.
Due: Saturday Nov 2nd 11:59 pm.

Re: S72 Town Hall #12.1 The Champ Is Here (2 this week)
The suns are your 2062 champs! Believe in the burn! The greatest test will be the winner of the Omega conference. I think once The pistons are finally taken out in 5! The suns will be so exhausted over the high that they won't Gameplan well to start the series which will lead to things going 7 games. Game 7 will be at home in the desert and we will treat our fans to the championship they've longed been waiting for. This run feels like the Lakers run of late. Where they pushed and pushed and pushed and finally got to that signature great team that was good enough to finally get it done! Albeit our paths were different as the Lakers were always the best regular season team, and the suns have never been that. It's still been a push Phoenix has made over 4 years and I truly feel like the fruits of our labor will finally pay off this year! I think Mac is going to "carry" us as a player and being an integral focal point during the run. But I think scoot will be the finals MVP. Given his versatility and monster numbers hes been able to put up at the 2 spot and not as the primary ball handler but still creating offense for himself and others.
This is your captain speaking

Re: S72 Town Hall #12.1 The Champ Is Here (2 this week)
Who is going to win the Championship this season?
I like the Suns to go all the way.
What will their playoff run look like?
I think it will be pretty smooth sailing until they inevitably meet the Pistons in the conference finals. There's no other team in this conference poised to upset either team, so this is arguably the championship series right here. Suns in 6 or 7 depending if they overtake the Pistons for 1st place.
Who will give them their greatest test?
Pistons.
Who will carry them to glory?
I'm not so sure it's who as to what. The Suns are a more cohesive team this year. The Pistons are starting to fall apart due to their tax situation. Kuminga is not as good as Ware. The Pistons are not as deep as the Suns. If the Pistons get into foul trouble or something like that and one of their bench players has to play the bulk of the minutes at any position, they're in trouble. The Suns at least have a clear sixth man in Baba Miller to pick up some others' slack. Chet Stephens and Clarence Hollis have proven to be more than serviceable back up players, too. I think it's a depth thing, and head to head the Suns have had the Pistons number all year long.

Somehow I manage.

Re: S72 Town Hall #12.1 The Champ Is Here (2 this week)
Who is going to win the Championship this season?
Chicago Bulls
What will their playoff run look like?
I think they will stay the 2nd seed and get past San Antonio with no issue. The showdown with Boston in the 2nd round is going to be tricky after all their new additions. I think they match up well against Golden State.
Who will give them their greatest test?
Boston Celtics in the Conference and obviously the defending champs in Detroit for the title
Who will carry them to glory?
Sion James
Chicago Bulls

Who is going to win the Championship this season?
Phoenix Suns
What will their playoff run look like?
2 sweeps, then the Pistons in 7 (barring Piston injury or Suns injury, which they've both been mostly lucky with so far--either short injuries to Lauri he could mostly play through or long injury to easily replaceable bench players like Keisei), then whoever from Omega in less than 7.

I'm going with the 4 peated Pisstons.
They are gonna go in with the 2 seed behind the Suns, because their C just got hurt, but after this sim and the first round of playoffs he will be back to full strength. Will easily take out the 7 seed and continue on the face the Suns in the Conference Final where it will be a game 7 victory for the Pisstons, and then go one to steamroll whoever goes to the Finals from the Omega conference again.
PeeWee is still that man. Gonna carry them the whole way.

I'm gonna say the Suns win it all this season and ruin the pistons 4peat.
I see them handling their opponents pretty easily with the exception of the Pistons. That series will likely go to a game 7 with the Suns having a solid win in game 7. Then I can see them winning that boat in 5 games against the Bulls. Or they could just fall on their face, who knows
Maxwell Lewis and Scoot Henderson will need to continue to stay healthy and they will clearly be the ones to carry this team to greatness. They have been nothing but elite players and elite players show up when it matters the most.

Re: S72 Town Hall #12.1 The Champ Is Here (2 this week)
Im going with the Suns too. Really kept pace with the Pistons all year, they just beat the Pistons comfortably twice, and I think defense wins championships. Suns hold strong and take down the dynasty. I actually think the Suns are going to breeze through the playoffs. Never loses more than a game in any series. The Pistons will eventually give them their biggest test due to sheer offense, but after that series, the Suns will cruise.
The Mac addition is going proving to be the secret ingredient and the Maxwell/Scoot combo finally takes PHX the distance.

Rebuilding brick by brick... and we've got plenty of bricks 🧱

Battle of the purple players. I think the Pistons will win again. However, it won't be as easy as previous seasons. Suns will take the Pistons to game 7, I just don't see the Suns securing the series. Leading the way will be Pee Wee Kirkland. Kirkland is the best defender in the entire league. In addition he's the best 3pt shooter.
I'll be rooting for the Suns, unfortunately it will be Pistons again.

I like the Bulls in a long run.
I think my Heat and the Warriors will give them trouble, but not as much as the Suns in the finals.
While I think the Suns have a better team, I fear that Josh will game plan on a different level and knock off some really good teams.
As many people have stated all season, it boils down to the leadership and versatility of Sion James
