Town Hall #7: Hey Now, You're an All Star
Rules: 1 point if you give thoughtful answers which I will award after the timer ends for responses. The timer ends for responses at the moment the corresponding week's Sim is run.
Note: Use approximately 5 sentences as your bare minimum for 1 point. If you write 3 long, complex sentences, you'll still get a point. If you write 5 3 word sentences, you will not get a point. Don't @ me.
Due: Sim 7 deadline.
Make a case for any player on your team to make the All Star Team...or a case for why they're going to get screwed out of being an All Star.
I will also accept a video of you doing karaoke to Smash Mouth. Any Smash Mouth. RIP Steve

Re: Town Hall #7: Hey Now, You're an All Star
Since I've recently seen his max contract come into question, I'll take a little time to support my most beloved draft pick of mine: Safi Fino-A-Laself. The knock on his candidacy this season would be how far down his scoring has dipped, currently sitting at 18.3 ppg, which is far, far below the top-25 and a distant 3rd on this roster. After his scoring, however, you'd be hard pressed to find a player who is capable of doing so much at such a high level. His 8.4 rebounds per game put him in the top 20 in the league. 6.8 assists place him at 21st. His 3.4 blocks have him leading the league and his .455 3p percentage is in the top 5. Then he is right at the bottom of the top 25 in FT% and the 1.5 STLs match the current 25th place player, which means he could place in that category by the end of the season. THEN after some deeper dives, I see that Safi is top 10 in both PER and offensive efficiency and is the league leader in defensive efficiency.
He might be aging, lost his purple, and certainly is quickly losing the little athleticism he started with, but my boy still has it going on.

I think this is probably one of the more difficult positions in which to get the nod, but I like my boy Bryon Nelson.
Let's forget the fact that his potential went blue for a second, because he's a green player. In fact, after his TC, I could not figure out what made him pop blue. No potentials increased (by letter anyway - the most straightforward indicator), and his athleticism barely budged (+3 STR). As a green boy, he's putting up almost 20ppg (on a thin team, sure), eclipsing the team's other primary scorer of the last several seasons, Kevin Cross. He has a D in 3PS and is still shooting over 30% from 3. He has an EWA of almost 4 for a team that has only won 9 games.
Guys, if we didn't have Bryon Nelson in Golden State, we'd basically be the Utah Jazz of every other PBSL season besides this one. Put my boy Bryon in the game.

Raphael Gordon deserves to be the reserve Center for the Alpha Conference. He is having his most efficient season at age 33 as the starting Center for the Grizzlies. He is leading the team in scoring and top-20 overall. He is also on pace to have a career-high in rebounding and one of his best seasons in steals and blocks. He is the heart of the Grizzlies this season and would make a good story as a first-time All-Star.

Re: Town Hall #7: Hey Now, You're an All Star
If anyone on the Bulls could make the All-Star team, it'd be Remy Martin. He's averaging 22.5 PPG, 7.5 RPG and 4.5 APG with a couple steals on a very efficient .531 from the field. The Bulls went 2-7 without Remy Martin or Mac McClung. They were 8-3 with both guys. That means without McClung, the Bulls were 13-13 on mostly Remy Martin. He's 7th in the Alpha Conference in scoring and 5th in the Conference in steals. There is a lot of tough competition, but if Remy doesn't make it, the injury could potentially affect him. He'll miss another game that sim and then be D2D through the all-star break. It's not the only reason he'd miss the roster, but I'd expect to at least get one of the last two spots that may or may not see the floor in the ASG

his one's easy, Scoot Henderson! He's leading my team to the division title. He scores at 23 points a game putting 11 in scoring. He's throwing 5 assists per game. He defense like a beast. His 3 point percentage is way up. Not having to be the point guard is doing wonders for him. He's a efficient scorer and he's doing in less than 40 mins a game. He made the all star team last year with weaker numbers, he's going to be a starter this year.

Re: Town Hall #7: Hey Now, You're an All Star
I'm going to say Kamari Brown. He has taken over the team leader responsibilities for the first time in his career after Brandon Ingram was shipped to Chicago and he has not disappointed me one bit. He leads the team in scoring and his playing great. I think he will be a treat during the game because his 100 JMP will be a big hit for fans looking to see some creativity during the game. I think Brown is often overlooked in today's game as he does a lot of things well but nothing spectacular. However, I think it is great when we see fresh new faces in the game so I'm hoping he finds a way to crack through against some tough competition within the conference.

Re: Town Hall #7: Hey Now, You're an All Star
Well, if you absolutely had to select an All-Star from a 15-33 team, may I interest you in one Russ Coles? Before testing out a Kessler/Warley frontcourt, Russ was averaging 21 ppg. Even now, coming off the bench, he's averaging 19 ppg. But really, it's his efficiency that's All-Star level. .581 FG%, .608 TS, and a whopping 23.4 PER. This has absolutely been a breakout year for Coles, and should be rewarded with an All-Star selection. Plus I could use the points. Any little bit helps...
Re: Town Hall #7: Hey Now, You're an All Star
I guess I'll make a case self nominating a couple of guys on my team I think deserves to be an all-star. Let's start with Jose Alvarado. He is the current league leader in Triple Doubles, Assists, steals and FT percentage. The reason this team stays afloat. Yes he does play a lot of minutes but that is only because we have no depth. The departure of BI opened up opportunities for him to become a better all around player and it shows. Speaking of BI departure helping out, Peewee Kirkland deserves to be there with his teammate also. Ever since being compared to Green/Green Raphael Gordon he's been on a tear. Was once at #10 in points per game, he's he is now top 3. I guess he read the town hall 3 about him not even being in the top 10. He took that as a challenge and hasn't looked back. He appreciated the constructive criticism and said that was the motivation he need to become a better version of himself.
Re: Town Hall #7: Hey Now, You're an All Star
There are a few players on the Cavs roster that deserves to be in the all-star. Devin Vassell and Darious Garland should be an All-Star. Both of them should get the respect and recognition they deserve. However, I'll pick the league's nightmare, PF Jonathan Isaac. Isaac is the fastest PF in the league. He averages almost 30 pts per game. There is no question he will lead the league in pts per game. Isaac is a future hall-of-famer.

Re: Town Hall #7: Hey Now, You're an All Star
My answer should be gates as he may finally be living up to his hype. However I am going to go a different route. I’m going to say Anthony Morrow. The guy has been playing lights out. He should easily be most improved player based on the shooting increase he has had this season. He also has been the scoring impact I have needed to propel my team forward. If it was not for a Griner injury I think my team would be a lot better than where they are currently sitting.
