Reggie Miller
Reggie's nomination: viewtopic.php?p=9985#p9985
Reggie's final PBSL player page: http://pbsl.ijbl.net/2000/players/player270.htm
Vote yes if you think Reggie Miller should be in the Hall of Fame. Vote no if you do not think he should be in. 75% is induction, 50% is automatic nomination next year.
I'll keep this poll open until the end of the playoffs.

Re: Reggie Miller
Reggie only received 68% of votes, so he will not be inducted. He will automatically be up for consideration next season, however.
And something to chew on until we open up nominations next all-star weekend...

Re: Reggie Miller
You are correct. Karl is also eligible.
Looks like we're going to have a clear HOF class next season.

Re: Reggie Miller
This makes me happy. And not just because I voted no. Only because I want the HOF bar to be set high. Miller without a doubt has a case. But I'm glad it appears many just didn't think he should get in at all or just yet. I won't be upset of he gets in next year or the next after that. I'm happy though that it will be tough for him. That means our HOF will be legit.JNR wrote:Reggie only received 68% of votes, so he will not be inducted. He will automatically be up for consideration next season, however.

Re: Reggie Miller
I mean, I look at reggie and I see an elite shooter for his entire career. did he ever win one? no, but I feel like he was good enough to deserve a spot in the HOF. He was a Top 4 guard in this league for 3 seasons and Top 2 guard for 2 seasons (using All-League designations as a determinant). I mean if we are only going to determine HOF candicacy by winning championships let me just offer up Kemp, Penny, Zo and let's just close up shop. lol

Re: Reggie Miller
Out of those 3 Kemp and Penny should have astericks for being OP, leaving Zo as the only legitimate player in the Hall of Fame. I could get behind this.IamQuailman wrote:I mean, I look at reggie and I see an elite shooter for his entire career. did he ever win one? no, but I feel like he was good enough to deserve a spot in the HOF. Re: Reggie Miller
I dunno, for me, that's good enough to get in on your second or third year of eligibility, but first-ballot? No. First-ballot inductees should be the cream of the crop, the absolute best. For example, despite both being OP beasts, Malone is a bit closer to being a first-ballot Hall-of-Famer than Robinson is in my book, because at least Malone was able to drag his team to a Finals appearance. Robinson couldn't do that once, and he (and Miller) combined blew their best chance to get there and got swept.IamQuailman wrote:I mean, I look at reggie and I see an elite shooter for his entire career. did he ever win one? no, but I feel like he was good enough to deserve a spot in the HOF. I'm also not a fan of the "we gotta put in some guys every year" mentality that real Hall of Fames have, because sooner or later you start putting people in just to fill spots. I get what Darth is saying, Hall of Fames should be hard to get into, it's the one time where we should judge harshly and nitpick.
Re: Reggie Miller
I am 100% behind this. The reason a player gets an auto-nomination next season if he makes 50% is to account for this. I think we all agree that only the best players of the league should get in on the first try. And I also like that many people have different opinions about the process. Makes it a lot more fun.Xist2Inspire wrote:I dunno, for me, that's good enough to get in on your second or third year of eligibility, but first-ballot? I still got all my fingers but somewhere I lost my mind.

Breh, the team made Malone. Not the other way around.Xist2Inspire wrote:I dunno, for me, that's good enough to get in on your second or third year of eligibility, but first-ballot?
