San Antonio Spurs Preseason Presser 2018

Post by Eazy P » Mon Dec 18, 2017 11:03 am

Hello everyone. Glad you guys can be here this morning for Our Presser. As always we love to thank our fans for their love an support and as always we strive to put the best product out on the court and be competitive.

Last season ended with a 1st round exit to the Grizzlies who had a great game plan and beat us in 7 games. They were a bad matchup for us and they took advantage of it. Besides losing in the 1st round last season was a great year for our team despite a few injuries we did well. After losing in the 1st round we thought long and hard about what we should do for the future of this franchise. Blow it up or try to go for another title run. During that process we decided what was best for our team was to start over and from scratch. We haven't had a clean slate in a while probably since the creation draft some seasons ago. So we decided to unload 2 of our best players in DeAndre Jordan and Russell Westbrook and deciding not to bring Josh Smith back. Some of the hardest decisions ever but at the same time you gotta know when to move on and start over. Russell and Josh has been a big part of this Spurs organization for years and brought 2 titles. For that we are thankful.

For our fans I hope you are patient with us through this process and we will get back to the mountain top again.

If anyone have questions feel free to ask. We will answer to the best of our ability.

Thanks again for joining us here today.

Which superstar loss are the fans having more difficulty dealing with: Russell Westbrook or Josh Smith?

Also, do you have a set timeline before you are planning to be competitive again?

Given that you're in a rebuilding year. What does a 'successful' season look like?
6 Rings. That's it. That's the tweet.

Is Dennis Schroder prepared to lead the San Antonio Spurs, or will you be looking elsewhere for a new floor leader?

Last year, Jimmer Freddette shone with the Heat. Are Spurs fans prepared for another Year of the Jimmer?

I would say the fans love them both. They are the reason This franchise has those 2 titles. The 1st year it was Smith carrying the team to the title and winning finals MVP and then Westbrook doing the same a couple of seasons ago. They are both Special people to the fans not only on the court but the charity work they do off the court in the San Antonio community.

As far as being competitive again were are hoping that in a 2-3 seasons to be back competing. Our goal this year since we don't have our pick is to make sure it isn't top 12 but if that's the case it's all good.

Not having our pick being top 12. We are staring over in a year were we don't have our pick which is gusty but we just wanna make sure it isn't real high. Even with this team of yellows we will compete to the best of our abilities. maybe proving current and potential colors don't matter.

Yes the fans love that Jimmer is Back in a Spurs Uni and we are looking forward to unleashing the beast. He has the green light to jack up shots from anywhere. I think this will be a fun year for him. He could be what Redick was for the Suns some seasons ago.

As for now he's the leader of this team but it a GM comes along with a offer we will listen. I rather him compete for another title if possible or be in a situation where it isn't a full rebuild. but we will see how things go. I think he's excited to be the leader tho. He's been behind Russell and Josh for a while. I think even tho the circumstance with the rebuild he want to prove he can lead a team.

You mentioned that you wanted to end up in the top half of the lottery and that you'd like to move Dennis. If it came down to it, which would be more important to you, more assets for a rebuild with a Dennis trade or ensuring that the pick isn't a valuable one?

How much can Wilbert Brown give you this season, given that a lot of his value is duplicative of what T-Rob already provides?
