In the past, when someone has been given a position of league responsibility, they have held that position until such time as they resigned from it. Some have suggested that positions of league responsibility should be up for election each season.
If this proposition passes, positions of responsibility shall be elected each year beginning with the 2013 offseason, subject to the following rules:
1. Self-nominations only. Nominations for all positions must be entered during the rookie draft.
2. Anyone who runs unopposed is automatically elected.
3. You may run for multiple positions; however, you only get 5 points for league responsibility per season no matter how many positions you hold.
4. Voting on positions with multiple nominees shall take place during the RFA period.
For the sake of league continuity in the short term, the office of the commissioner shall NOT be subject to an election this year if this proposal passes; however, if this proposal passes, a proposition (or set of propositions) shall be placed to a vote next season to decide (a) if the commissioner should be up for re-election after a given term and (b) if so, what that term should be.
