NEW POINT SYSTEM (S11/2000-01 SEASON AND BEYOND)
GMS WITHOUT A TEAM
While a GM is "unemployed" (active on the forums but does not have a team, usually due to being on the waitlist) s/he is permitted to collect points via media contributions. If he has a negative personal balance due to having previously put a team into the red (see point 2), he must pay off the balance to zero before any other points may be accumulated. When an "unemployed" GM is assigned to a team, his points (positive or negative) are added to the point total of the team he is taking over for (this can bring his new team into negative territory).

CRITERIA FOR ARTICLES/LEAGUE MEDIA:
Team Press Conference Reward: Can't just be a post saying "Ask me questions!" It must be a legitimate presser and you must also participate in at least 3 other GMs Press Conferences.
League Article Reward: Basically if you do some type of extensive article for the league(Ex: First Take, Power Rankings, conference/team articles orwrite-ups, or any kind of article that you obviously put much time and effort into) you will receive up to 5 points for those. We want good quality articles with good information. These can be opinion articles on the league or whatever you come up with. Get a little creative. If you do an article like Power Rankings that require multiple entries, you will receive 5 points for the original post and 1 point for each subsequent updated addendum post (MUST CREATE A NEW POST, NOT UPDATE ORIGINAL POST... DO THAT AND IT WON'T COUNT). Articles that are focused on the author's own team will probably max out at 2 points. Those focused more big scale (division/conference/league) will be awarded up to 5.
Podcasts: Podcasts at least a half hour in length are worth 5 points to each regular participant on the podcast. A "guest" who is on the podcast for only part of the duration may be eligible for 2 points (at the discretion of the Media Points Coordinator). Points awarded for podcasts count towards your 25-point media cap. Podcasts shorter than half an hour may be awarded a partial award (less than 5 points, probably proportionate with length).
Refer a Friend to Sim League: 20 points after the first season, 10 additional points after the 2nd season
***In order to qualify for this reward you must refer a friend and that friend must take over an OPEN team and be an "active" GM of that team for at LEAST 1 full season. Meaning if the team is taken over in the middle of a season then you will not be eligible for the reward until the middle of the following season. Also please do NOT be tempted to pull a "bustahyndes". We constantly check IPs and will know if there is any funny business. Feel free to get people on the waiting list as well.
What happens when a GM leaves a Team
1. When a GM leaves a team with a positive point balance, any points in that team's points bank remain with the team are transferred to the next GM to take over.
2. If a GM leaves a team with a negative point balance (due to tax burden), the team's points are set to zero. The negative points that could not be paid from the team's balance "follow" that GM as a "personal" negative balance. A GM may work off his negative personal balance (via media article posting) while unemployed. When the GM takes over a newteam, his negative personal balance is applied against that team's points (may take the team into the negative).
